In the Fall of 2015 I joined the staff at St. Patrick Catholic School to teach third and fourth grades. Prior to coming to here, I taught 4th grade in the Hampton-Dumont Community School District for 17 years.
I grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa. I attended public schools until high school, when I switched to St. Edmond High School for grades 9-12. At Loras College, I majored in Early Childhood Education. I earned a second degree in Elementary Education from Buena Vista University.
I’m from a family of 15, and my husband and I have 6 children of our own. We also have 13 grandchildren and thoroughly enjoy spending time with them.
Children have always been a source of joy and inspiration to me. In addition to my large family and years with fourth graders, I have had the opportunities to teach preschool, kindergarten, and parish religious education.
I feel most fortunate that I am able to teach in the Catholic school environment and to enjoy the benefits of belonging to St. Patrick--where caring and kindness are seen everywhere I go.
