Small Group Instruction

Mrs. Frederiksen works with a small group of students

St. Patrick School recognizes that a “one-size-fits-all” approach is not the way to maximize learning for every student. Flexible grouping within the classroom for language arts, reading and mathematics allows teaching to be more directed and focused. This differentiated instruction recognizes that students learn best in different ways. It also propels students to learn at the pace best suited for their individual needs, whether they need extra time to grasp concepts or are ready to move more rapidly through material. The result is the highest quality learning environment for each child and greater student success.

Being split into small groups really gave us a great environment to learn in. Students could work at a faster or slower speed depending on their needs, and teachers had time to work with us individually.
