Online Parent Volunteer Form

The many activities at St. Patrick Catholic School cannot happen without volunteers. We need your help! It is the great parents, and their dedication to our school and students who make St. Patrick unique. Use the button above to see the numerous opportunities to volunteer your time and talent next year. We have something for everyone!  Some events will only take minutes, while others may include planning meetings. We ask that every family volunteer for at least one event, if not more. Every person makes a difference!  If you have grandparents in the area, see if they would like to volunteer...it could be a great opportunity for them. If you have any questions, feel free to contact next year's Volunteer Coordinator Chair at kmhlyons@hotmail.com

Congratulations to Mrs. Luders and her homeroom for winning the Godfather’s pizza party for the month of April. Godfather’s also gave the school a check for $38.48, which is a percentage of the sales from that night. Godfather’s Pizza Nights are the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Cedar Falls 1st Street location. This was our last pizza night for the school year. Watch for detail coming in August to kick off our Godfather Pizza Night next school year. Please support the Cedar Falls Godfather’s on 1st St. for their generous contribution to St. Patrick Catholic School!

Say Goodbye to the Magazine Sales and Hello to St. Patrick Football Bash!

We will be starting the 2019-20 school year off with a fun event for everyone! St. Patrick will be participating in a 17-week program in which tickets will be purchased and 8 winners will be announced on a weekly basis. CASH prizes of up to $500 will be awarded to the winners each week. Each ticket will be associated with 3 NFL teams and points will be calculated to establish the winners. Share this link to with friends and family who might want to purchase through our secure Charger Webstore. Tell them to write in your name as the referral. Please note there is a service fee to purchase tickets this way.

While it will be exciting to watch for the winners and anticipate winning a little extra cash—the proceeds from this event will help St. Patrick School purchase items for the school and enrich our academic curriculum. Purchasing a water fountain to fill water bottles has been discussed as well as possible field trips and the expansion of Project Lead the Way activities. I am sure we can add many more possibilities to this list when we know what type of funding will be available.

How do I help make this project a success?

We are asking each family, not individual child, to sell 10 tickets. Each ticket will cost $20 and can be sold to friends and relatives. You are not limited to selling to people in the Cedar Valley (you can also sell to Grandma in California)! Prizes can be mailed to the winners. St. Patrick has the potential to benefit greatly from these sales. If each family sells 10 tickets our proceeds will be approximately $10,000!  Note: the ticket says $25, but the cost is only $20!

Other Catholic Schools throughout Iowa have found great success from this program.

Protection of God’s Children – Information from the Archdiocese of Dubuque

Parents, the Archdiocese of Dubuque takes seriously its call to provide the safest possible environment for all of our young people.  As part of that call, we provide information to parents to help them and all of us to be more informed of the issues and topics related to the abuse of children. It is our sincere hope that by partnering together we can continually provide the safest possible environment for all our young people to grow into healthy, Christ-filled adults.

We invite you to view the Catholic Mutual Group Training “Safe Haven - It's Up to You”  videos that all employees and volunteers in the Archdiocese are required to complete.

As a parent you are invited to access these videos by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://dubuque.cmgconnect.org
  2. Register for a new account
  3. Select your school or parish location
  4. Select Role of “Volunteer”
  5. Select Participation as “Parent”
  6. Start the Training, “Safe Haven Training for Parents - Dubuque”
  7. Register your account

Parents who view the videos through the “Parent” section will not be required to have a background check.  Parents who wish to be a parish/school volunteer, averaging over an hour a week, are asked to participate as “Volunteer” (step 5 above) as this will automatically prompt you through the initial background check process.

What is Scrip? Click below to find out!

Go to the Order Scrip Quick Link on our homepage to learn more or to place an order.

Important information for parents who drive students to school events.  We appreciate our volunteers and employees that drive for school activities.  The safety of our students is of the utmost importance! As a requirement from Catholic Mutual, the Archdiocesan insurance carrier, all volunteers and employees must complete a 20-minute online defensive driving training prior to driving for school activities.  This includes drivers of both school vehicles and private vehicles.  The required training can be found at cmgconnect.org > Sign in or create an account > Defensive Driving Curriculum > Start Curriculum.  Be sure to use “Dubuque” in the pull-down menu and select the location of your youngest child.  At the end of the training, each participant will complete a driver questionnaire. This will include questions about your personal insurance coverage limits so you will want to have your insurance card available.”

Upcoming pizza dates are:  March 13, April 10 and May 8.

Choosing to send our children to Clover Patch Preschool and St Patrick School is one of the best decisions we've made for our family. We really appreciate the smooth transition that takes place from preschool to the elementary. The school has a family-like atmosphere that makes all children feel welcome.
