Thank you for purchasing Scrip! Thanks to all the families who purchased Scrip during our Silly String Contest. During the weeks of the contest we sold over $50,000 worth of Scrip. The rebates earned totaled almost $2,500! That means that St. Patrick Catholic School will receive half of that and the other half will go back to the families who ordered Scrip as credit to their tuition. Now that you know how easy it is to purchase Scrip, try to make it a habit. Scrip is a great way to help our school and earn tuition dollars!

Your gift to our Annual Appeal and your attendance at the Main Event will make a difference! The Main Event is Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the UNI Commons Slife Ballroom. Click here for donor information or to purchase tickets.

Are your students outgrowing their uniform clothing? We have bins with gently used uniform clothing here at school for free. There is a large amount of girls size 5 & 6. If you would like to look through the bins, stop in the office and we will direct you. If you have uniforms you can no longer use and would like to donate them, you can bring those in as well.

Weather Announcements: Be watching for instructions on how we notify parents in the event of bad weather. A blue half sheet is going home this week for you to keep as a reference for when school will need to be closed, delayed or let out early. You can also find this information on our website under Parent Resources>Helpful Information.

Protection of God’s Children – Information from the Archdiocese of Dubuque:

Parents, the Archdiocese of Dubuque takes seriously its call to provide the safest possible environment for all of our young people.  As part of that call, we provide information to parents to help them and all of us to be more informed of the issues and topics related to the abuse of children. It is our sincere hope that by partnering together we can continually provide the safest possible environment for all our young people to grow into healthy, Christ-filled adults.

We invite you to view the Catholic Mutual Group Training “Safe Haven - It's Up to You”  videos that all employees and volunteers in the Archdiocese are required to complete.

As a parent you are invited to access these videos by following these steps:

  1. Go to
  2. Register for a new account
  3. Select your school or parish location
  4. Select Role of “Volunteer”
  5. Select Participation as “Parent”
  6. Start the Training, “Safe Haven Training for Parents - Dubuque”
  7. Register your account

Parents who view the videos through the “Parent” section will not be required to have a background check.  Parents who wish to be a parish/school volunteer, averaging over an hour a week, are asked to participate as “Volunteer” (step 5 above) as this will automatically prompt you through the initial background check process.

Important information for parents who drive students to school events.  We appreciate our volunteers and employees that drive for school activities.  The safety of our students is of the utmost importance! As a requirement from Catholic Mutual, the Archdiocesan insurance carrier, all volunteers and employees must complete a 20-minute online defensive driving training prior to driving for school activities.  This includes drivers of both school vehicles and private vehicles.  The required training can be found at > Sign in or create an account > Defensive Driving Curriculum > Start Curriculum.  Be sure to use “Dubuque” in the pull-down menu and select the location of your youngest child.  At the end of the training, each participant will complete a driver questionnaire. This will include questions about your personal insurance coverage limits so you will want to have your insurance card available.”

The faculty and staff at St. Patrick School really love their jobs and the kids.  It is such a wonderful thing to see as a parent!  It really is a great big family…not just a teaching institution.”
