Protection of God’s Children – Information from the Archdiocese of Dubuque:
Parents, the Archdiocese of Dubuque takes seriously its call to provide the safest possible environment for all of our young people. As part of that call, we provide information to parents to help them and all of us to be more informed of the issues and topics related to the abuse of children. It is our sincere hope that by partnering together we can continually provide the safest possible environment for all our young people to grow into healthy, Christ-filled adults.
We invite you to view the Catholic Mutual Group Training “Safe Haven - It's Up to You” videos that all employees and volunteers in the Archdiocese are required to complete.

- Start the Training, “Safe Haven Training for Parents - Dubuque”
- Register your account
Parents who view the videos through the “Parent” section will not be required to have a background check. Parents who wish to be a parish/school volunteer, averaging over an hour a week, are asked to participate as “Volunteer” (step 5 above) as this will automatically prompt you through the initial background check process.

This includes drivers of both school vehicles and private vehicles. The required training can be found at cmgconnect.org > Sign in or create an account > Defensive Driving Curriculum > Start Curriculum. Be sure to use “Dubuque” in the pull-down menu and select the location of your youngest child. At the end of the training, each participant will complete a driver questionnaire. Proposed STO Changes Please help take action! The Internal Revenue Service has proposed new regulations that would limit the federal deductibility of individual donations to School Tuition Organizations (STOs) in Iowa. We are asking that School Tuition Organizations be exempted from the IRS rule, as it will reduce donations to STOs, resulting in a shortage of funds available for tuition grants for lower-income and working-class families.
Help us voice our objection to this rule by sending a message to Senators Grassley and Ernst as well as your member of the U.S. House, asking them to assist us in this effort. Click here to log in and send a message.
We are still in need of lunchroom volunteers. If you are interested in helping one day, once a month, or whatever works for your schedule, you can sign up online. Click here for the link.
