McElroy Excellence in Education Grant Congratulations to Mrs. Newgard and St. Patrick School for being awarded $900 from the McElroy Excellence in Education Grant from AEA267. The grant will allow the school to purchase Flip Video Cameras to improve student learning.

Fire Prevention Week “Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With!” is the official theme for Fire Prevention Week, October 3-9.
This year's campaign is designed to educate people about the importance of smoke alarms and encourages everyone to take the steps necessary to update and maintain their home smoke alarm protection.
Cognitive Aptitute Tests this week Grades 2, 4, and 7 are taking CA tests this week. Please make sure your students are well rested with a good breakfast if they are in those grades!
CPTO meeting Thursday CPTO will hold their first meeting on Thursday, September 16 at 6:30 in the MPR. It's so easy to get involved and we have divided committees into manageable jobs with a small time commitment. Last year we only had four meetings! Join us today!

History Day State Qualifiers Eight St. Patrick School students qualified for the State History Day Competition. Thirteen students participated in the Regional Competition. All students represented our school well!
Wear Blue Polos on Friday Dress in Blue day is this Friday---March 5th. Our school will be dressing in blue for colon cancer awareness day to support our staff members who have loved ones who have had colon cancer.

Students learn about puppets On Tuesday, May 12, K-4 students were treated to a puppet workshop led by Gwynne Burke of the Visiting Artists of Iowa.
Student receives award at State History Day Hannah A. was the only student this year to advance to the State History Day competition on May 4. She performed for students at St. Patrick during Monday Morning Prayer. Hannah received the "Best of Iowa" Award for Individual Performance!
