Tuition Assistance | Two types of tuition assistance are available to qualifying families to help defray the cost of a St. Patrick School education. You do not have to be Catholic to apply. This assistance is available through the Archdiocese of Dubuque program Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO as well as the locally funded St. Patrick School tuition assistance program. You may qualify for one or both by filling out a Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application available in the school office or online at www.psas.org. The application deadline is March 23, 2012. Tuition assistance is not available for registration fees or transportation fees. The STO raises funds to assist families whose income is at or below 300% of the federal poverty level. For more information on the STO program, including examples of qualifying income levels, click here. Specific information about the next year’s application process will be available after January 15. New Family Discount All new families for the 2012-13 school year will receive a $500 tuition discount, split $250 over each of their first two years. Scholarship Drawing New kindergarten families who register by February 29, 2012 will be entered into a drawing for one of four $250 scholarships funded by our Website sponsors. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You may also qualify for a tax credit According to the Iowa Department of Revenue, “Taxpayers who have one or more dependents attending grades KINDERGARTEN THROUGH TWELVE in an Iowa school may take a credit for each dependent for amounts paid for tuition and textbooks. The credit is 25% of the first $1,000 paid for each dependent for tuition and textbooks. “ For more information, consult your tax professional or visit http://www.iowa.gov/tax/educate/faqinc.html#15 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Use your everyday purchases to offset part of your tuition Earn a discount on your next semester’s tuition equal to 2% of your purchases when you buy $1000 or more of gift cards in a semester through our SCRIP program.
